There are a few things that you will need to do in order to learn saxophone by yourself.

The next thing to realise is that actually you don’t have to learn by yourself !!

Yes, you may be alone in the room. Yes, you can work it out by yourself without any help, but it will take years. Many years. And it will be a battle.

But you don’t have to be alone and it doesn’t need to be a battle.

However, there is so much help available for you to start or continue your saxophone journey under the guidance of someone who knows how to play the saxophone, how to teach the saxophone, how to make your saxophone lessons fun, inspiring and enjoyable.

One possibility is that you can order a saxophone lessons music book online. This will magically arrive at your door. The downside with simply learning saxophone from a book is that reading and translating what you read into action can be rather confusing and difficult.

So, how about online saxophone lessons ?

Youtube is free resource that is full of great online saxophone lessons. It is also full of not-so-great saxophone lessons. Sorting the good from the bad is a time consuming challenge.

Yes, if you’ve got the time, then sure – go for it. But knowing what is good and not-so-good is really only possible AFTER you have watched the saxophone lessons video.

There are some great online saxophone lessons out there on the internet.

Some dedicated learning platforms such as Udemy or Skillshare offer some really great and simple courses that will teach you how to play the saxophone.
