Sax Lessons Online

Sometimes it is just cheaper, easier and more convenient to have your sax lessons online.

Learning how to play the saxophone can be a wonderful experience and journey.  Setting yourself the goal to learn saxophone – at any age – is exciting….. but then it starts to get difficult…..

How do you ACTUALLY learn how to play the saxophone ?

First and foremost you will need to get your hands on a sax.  Can you buy a new one from Amazon ?  Can you buy a new one from your local music shop ?  If budget is an issue, then perhaps you can rent one for a few months ?

Once you’ve got your hands on your new best friend (your saxophone !!) then comes the tricky bit – actually playing it.

Yes, you can spend hours and hours searching on Youtube, Google, or scouring the internet for video sax lessons online.  Yes, the video saxophone lessons that you might stumble across may give you a bit of a nudge in the right direction.

However, you will spend a significant portion of your playing time sorting the wheat from the chaff.

There are a large number of sax lessons online out there that are not ideal.  Some are great – but some aren’t !

So, how do you know the good online saxophone lessons from the bad ones ?  The short answer here is that you can’t – at least not quickly anyway.  You may need to stumble, bumble and struggle through far too many videos to find the roses hidden in amongst the thorns.

So, then you decide that you might need a teacher – someone to guide you and help you to fulfil your saxophone dreams.

Trying to find a teacher can actually be rather difficult.

And when you do find one, you will quickly discover that they are not cheap.  Throw into the mix the travel time to get to your saxophone teacher (and get home again) and you’ve suddenly taken a sizeable chunk out of your day.

Then your teacher will make you play the music that he/she wants you to play.

For some reason, most (not all) saxophone lessons in a one-on-one setting are surprisingly and remarkably tedious.

Losing the will to live because of long and boring sax lessons does not auger well for a long term love affair with your saxophone !!

What happens if you don’t live near a saxophone teacher ?  Perhaps you live in a rural area, or are home schooled (or home schooling your child), or can’t drive, or don’t have access to public transport – or perhaps you simply don’t have the time to travel ?  Maybe you move around a lot, for work or for travel, and are never based in the one location for long enough to establish a good relationship with a saxophone teacher.

This is where sax lessons online come back to being front of mind.
