How To Play Soul Man by Sam and Dave On The Saxophone
Soul Man is a classic song from the late 1960’s. Featuring Sam Moore and Dave Prater, this song was a huge hit all over the world. The Blues Brothers then did another version that was also a big hit all over again.
As a saxophonist, you MUST be able to play this song. It is one of those songs where the band says, “Hey, do you know Soul Man ?” and the expected answer from you the saxophonist has to be a big “YES”.
So, with that in mind, let’s learn how to play Soul Man on the saxophone !
There is a little key change right near the end of the song – it’s the same melody for the brass/sax riff but slightly different notes.
And remember – this song is not only great fun, but is a guaranteed dance floor filler !
