Notes On An Alto Sax – E flat D sharp.
How To Play E flat on the Alto Saxophone.
How To Play D sharp on the Alto Saxophone.
Hello and welcome to this series of Notes On Alto Saxophone.
In this lesson for Beginner Saxophone Notes, we are going to learn how to play the note E flat or D sharp on our alto saxophone.
E flat = Eb D sharp = D#
These two notes sound the same, but have different names depending on a few things. But they are actually the same note.
There are actually THREE E flat and/or D sharp notes on alto saxophone.
Description:
1 To play a low E flat and/or D sharp, using your LEFT hand, place your three main fingers on the top three main keys of your saxophone, plus all three fingers on your right hand.. Add in the top key with your RIGHT pinky finger.
2 To play a middle E flat and/or D sharp, simply add the Register key (sometimes known as the Octave key) using your LEFT thumb at the back of your saxophone.
3 To play a high E flat and/or D sharp, you do NOT use the main finger keys. Simply add the Register key (sometimes known as the Octave key) using your LEFT thumb at the back of your saxophone, then add the top two side keys with the inside of your LEFT pointer finger.
It’s that easy !
This is just one of the series of Notes On Alto Saxophone lessons here at How To Play The Sax.
