Mastering The Break – How To Cross The Break On The Saxophone
“The Break” on the saxophone is essentially the point in which you go from using no fingers to suddenly using all of your fingers, or vice versa. In musical terms, it is when your transition from a C# up to a D (with the register key and all fingers) or from a D (with the register key and all fingers) down to a C#.
This little jump in notes can potentially be a little bit of a squeaker, a honker, a noise maker and a challenge to the beginner saxophonist.
This video shows you how to master the break on the saxophone and how to cross the break on the saxophone.
Most of the videos here inside the blog are edited and abbreviated versions of the full lessons inside the Members Area.

Given that it is a fundamental issue facing most beginner saxophone players early on in their journey towards learning how to play the saxophone, I felt it was a good idea to share with everyone 🙂
